August 1, 2011 Alert Islanders noticed an overturned SeaDoo between Dorval Island and the Chateauguay shore. Two passengers were waving for help while the weather worsened. Emergency calls to 911 were made but it was the quick action of Dorval Island Captain, Robert Acquin and an Island resident that saved two young ladies in distress. The pictures below show the scene at the dock on the Dorval side as police and coast guard responded to the call. Police rescue boat and recovered Seadoo. Coast Guard and Police respond to 911 call.

Bon retour sur l’Île!
Dorval Island is scheduled to open on Saturday April 28, 2012. First ferry is at 7:00 am. Islanders are reminded to check their email for schedule details. The schedule is also posted in the section of the site reserved for Islanders only. If you have not yet requested your username and password please do so. This area of the site includes a variety of important documents and publications for residents only. Welcome back to the Island!
Islanders do not have much longer to wait for ferry service to begin. The Town is set to open on Saturday April 28, 2012.
ROBINSON, Claire (nee Driscoll)
Passed away in Montreal, on March 16, 2012 at the age of eighty-eight. Beloved wife of the late William Isaac Robinson. She will be missed by her children Michael, Shande “Anne” and Martha. Funeral service will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Church, 375 Kitchener, in Westmount, on Tuesday, March 20 at 10:30 a.m. Family will receive condolences an hour prior the service. A memorial gathering will take place at a later date at the Robinson’s cottage on Dorval Island. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Catholic Community Services, 1857 de Maisonneuve Blvd. West, Montreal, H3H 1J9.
